May 6th --The Everglades National Park, FL--

Last night I found myself having a wrong time again. I forgot to adjust the clock of my computer. After writing a report, re-routing, and checking E-mail, I went to bed at around 3:00. Of course, I couldn't get up at 7:00. I got up at around 10:00 and left the motel at 11:00. Don't hurry. Everglades NP is just about 140 miles away. But, in fact, it took about 4 hours to get there. I stopped at the visitor center and asked the place to see alligators and to camp. The place for alligator is called Royal Palm and for camp is Flamingo. I went to Royal Palm and walked along a short trail. Here and there are alligators, fish, birds, and grasshoppers. It's really a beautiful place. Then, I drove to a campground in Flamingo. Although there had been a lot of flamingos here, now we can't see them at all. I drove around the campground, looking for a good site. I went around a loop for three times, but I couldn't find a site on a seashore. I gave up a seashore and got a place under a tree. When I got off my car and started to make up a tent, lots of mosquitoes came up to me. I stopped working and decided to get back into my car. I went to a shop and got a mosquito protector. This worked very well. I made up a tent, set a mosquito coil inside and had a dinner. The smell of mosquito coil made me miss a summer in Japan. I remembered good summer days during my childhood. It was a beautiful evening, although not so many stars could be seen here.
